In just a few months, approximately 325,000 people have signed End Citizens United’s petition. The number of people in support of this bill increased when the organization collaborated with “Ready for Hillary campaign.” End Citizens United endorsed Democratic candidates like Sen. Michael Bennet and Sen. Russ Feingold of Colorado and Wisconsin respectively.
According to Carbo, End Citizens United is unique in the sense that it plans to get people elected so that they influence changes on behalf of the group. These electorates are mainly governors and senators who support campaign finance reforms and subsequent overturn of Citizen United. End Citizens United planned to put up an expenditure arm by 2016 to fund candidate through direct mailers, television advertisements, and polling.
